Alexander Technique is designed to help alleviate tension, pain, and stiffness caused by the sedentary lifestyle that has become our new normal. Likely, it’s something you probably haven’t tried before, or even heard of. We’ve seen what it’s done for us, and we’re bringing it to you now because it can improve posture and eliminate chronic conditions that are often aggravated by habits of misuse. The Technique offers an accessible way to break these habits. Right from the beginning, the practitioner teaches the student, first, to become aware of habitual compression and second to replace it with ease and natural functioning.

The Alexander Technique is a way of learning to move mindfully through your day. It is a preventative as well as retroactive healing approach to living an injury free life. The Alexander process shines a light on inefficient habits of movement and patterns of accumulated tension. These propensities interfere with our innate ability to move easily. It is a simple yet powerful approach that offers the opportunity to take charge of one’s own learning and healing process. This technique is offered in performing arts schools to artists who use their body to make a living, but can be even more crucial for people who sit still all day bent over a keyboard.

Who was Alexander?
Frederick Matthias Alexander (born 1869 died 1955) also known as F.M. Alexander or simply Alexander was a Shakespearean actor who lost his voice while reciting. Over a nine - year period of intense self- observation, Alexander discovered that his vocal problems were caused by a misalignment of his head, neck and back. Alexander came to understand the significance of reclaiming his natural alignment as he restored full use of his voice and achieved a successful career.
